Art for unity

a public exhibition of palestinian culture

at haymarket, Newcastle upon Tyne opened on 14/12/2024

curated by us, created by you

We hosted a vibrant community art exhibition on 14th December 2024 in the heart of Newcastle City Centre, showcasing a diverse range of works contributed by local and artists in support of Palestinian culture and solidarity.

The event, run entirely on no budget, was a true community effort- we sold out two trays of Basbooseh (a traditional Palestinian dessert) and a case of the newly launched Kuffiyeh Cola generously supplied by Wafi Lounge, which added a beautiful culinary touch to the occasion. We fostered meaningful community engagement, with visitors engaging in thoughtful conversations about Palestine and the importance of cultural preservation.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to all the artists who contributed their work, as well as to the volunteers who helped set up the space and gave up their time to engage with members of the Public. And of course a big thank you to our friend Joseph who constructed every single free-standing board that displayed the artwork from scratch!

The exhibition embodied a spirit of unity and creativity, reflecting this collective's commitment to promoting peace, awareness, and cultural celebration.
